Aguiar, Cristhiano
CRISTHIANO AGUIAR is a writer and essayist. Born in Campina Grande, Paraíba, he has lived in Recife, Berlin, Olinda, São Paulo and Berkeley. A visiting researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, Aguiar is also a PHD candidate at the Mackenzie Presbyterian University in São Paulo. He was editor of the experimental literary magazines Eita! and Crispim. Aguiar's first collection, ‘Ao lado do muro’, was published in 2006. He is currently working on his first novel and also writing essays about contemporary Brazilian literature. In 2012, Cristhiano was selected by Granta magazine as one of the 20 best young Brazilian novelists.
