After working as an assistant editor with credits on a diverse range of films from Ridley Scott’s Gladiator to Harmony Korine’s Mister Lonely, Andrew concentrated on writing and directing. He has made four short films, the last of which, Five Miles Out, premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in Feb 2009. Micro-budget Greek Pete was his first feature and was released in UK cinemas and on DVD in 2009. His second feature, Weekend had its world premiere at SXSW Film festival in March 2011 picking up the Emerging Visions Audience Award before playing numerous festivals worldwide including London, Rotterdam and Karlovy Vary. It was released theatrically in the US and the UK in late 2011 and will roll out worldwide in 2012. In 2011 he was named as one of Variety’s ‘Screenwriters to Watch’ and was awarded the London Critics Circle Award for Best Breakthrough Filmmaker as well as The Evening Standard Film Award for Best Screenplay.
