Sreedevi K. Nair is Associate Professor & head, department of English, NSS College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, India. She did her doctoral and post-doctoral research in Translation Studies, and translates from Malayalam into English, and vice versa. She was the Charles Wallace India Trust Translator-in-Residence at the British Centre for Literary Translation, University of East Anglia in 2017. She has tried her hand at translating poetry, fiction, plays and treatises on art. She received the Lalita Kala Akademi state award for translation into Malayalam. In 2011, she won the award of the International Translation Grant from the International Centre for Writing and Translation, University of California, Irvine, USA, for her joint-translation Tales of Athiranippadam (English). Sreedevi Nair is also one of the two editors of Samyukta: A Journal of Gender & Culture.
