A new short play by UEA writer Steve Waters will be broadcast this Saturday at 7pm on BBC Radio 4. ‘Hotel de la Paix’ will be aired in the ‘From Fact to Fiction’ slot, an award-winning series which writers produce a fictional response to a major story from the week’s news. Steve’s play is set in a hotel in a beautiful lakeside city as Geneva hosts the Syrian peace talks. Steve (pictured) is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at UEA and is the author of a number of distinguished stage and radio plays including ‘Little Platoons’ (Bush Theatre, 2011), ‘The Contingency Plan’ (Bush Theatre, and BBC Radio 3 adaptation, 2009), and ‘World Music’ (Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, 2003, transferred to Donmar Warehouse, London, 2004). He recently took part in the Bush Theatre’s Sixty-Six Books project in which 66 writers each interpreted a book of the King James Bible.
