Naoise Gale
Naoise Gale is a current student on the MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) at UEA. She writes confessional, lyrical and spoken word poetry discussing her experiences as an autistic woman with a severe mental illness. Her work covers themes of psychosis, bipolarity, eating disorders and addiction, as well as grief, memory, family, and unconditional love. Her first full collection, IMPLODE EXPLODE, was published in October 2022 by Beir Bua Press, and was described as ‘an astonishingly mature collection from a vital new voice.’ Additionally, her debut pamphlet After the Flood Comes the Apologies was published by Nine Pens Press in 2021, and was reviewed in Buzz Magazine by Mab Jones, who called it ‘gritty and gorgeous.’ She has been listed in various competitions, including the Creative Futures Writers’ Award 2021, and the Fish Poetry Prize 2022.
