Naomi Wood is the author of The Godless Boys (Picador, 2011) and Mrs. Hemingway (Picador, 2014), which won the British Library Writers Award and the Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Award. It was shortlisted for the International Dylan Thomas Award, and was a Richard and Judy Book Club choice. Her third novel, The Hiding Game (Picador, 2019), is a murder mystery set in the Bauhaus in the 1920s. It was described as ‘intoxicating’ (Irish Times), ‘suspenseful’ (Sunday Times) and ‘devastating’ (New Statesman). It was a Red, Sunday Times Style, Grazia and Stylist Book of the Summer. Her story ‘Comorbidities’ won the 2023 BBC National Short Story Award. Her latest publication This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things (Phoenix, 2024). She co-convenes the MA in Prose Fiction at the University of East Anglia, and lives in Norwich with her family.
